I’ve just returned from a remarkable weekend in Hasselt, Belgium, where I was invited to an event to mark the 700th anniversary of the Eucharistic Miracle there. The event, which included a festal Mass and a Eucharistic Procession through the streets, included an international symposium on the Eucharist at which I was one of the speakers. The paper I gave was called “The Eucharist, Highlight of the Church and Source of the New Evangelisation” and I will post it shortly on our diocesan website. The aim of the symposium was to cultivate a greater love for the Mass. Eucharistic practice in Belgium is currently just 1% but this event in Hasselt drew a crowd much larger than the organisers were expecting.
Meanwhile, I hope you are enjoying the summer! Later in the year, we’re organising a big “Discipleship Day” in Winchester. It will be on Saturday 18th November - please mark the date in your diary now!

BeantwoordenVerwijderenJa was een fantastisch 'SACRAMENTSDAG', nu verlangend dat deze dag een verdere processie wordt in mijn dagelijks leven.
Het was een genadevolle dag - symposium SACRA 700- Het was een succes voor het symposium en eveneens de omkadering ervan: de H. Eucharistie, de vespers en de Sacramentsprocessie!!!! De ontmoetingen met elkaar was ook genade zijn voor elkaar. PROFICIAT!
O, ja wij zijn verwend geweest: geestelijk en lichamelijk.
